Mission Statement
VOCAL is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing and promoting the art and craft of songwriting and musical composition. Membership is open to anyone with a serious interest in songwriting, composing, or lyric writing, regardless of style, whether novice or professional. Centered in RIchmond VA, VOCAL seeks to serve all of Virginia.
Monthly Meeting
2nd Monday of the month
Meetings vary in format.
Guest speakers offer insight into the industry and craft. In the past we've covered everything from current legal issues , Taxes, a creative writing workshop, a songwriting seminar, and music theory.
Songwriters Showcase
Richmond's Longest Running Songwriter's Showcase
3rd Monday of the month
The Live showcase format features original music only. A variety of songwriters and styles are represented with changing formats. Currently we have added and ocasional Open Mic.
